Susan Madsen is an amazing painter who creates fabulous, dreamlike landscapes with human figures involved in utterly surreal activities. When it came time to create a cover for the books, I was delighted when she agreed to take on the challenge. And challenge it was. Book cover design is an art form in itself, far different than creating large canvas for galleries that stand on their own. Susan took on this task with her usual incredible fervor, drawing dozens of sketches in an attempt to capture the heart of the books. Once she had found the correct image, she then created an oil painting (about 30x30 cm).
